For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Tripple7Bull Innovations Private Limited is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below. Where we supply devices and a platform to a fleet operator, that operator is generally the Data Fiduciary for their drivers' and employees' data, and we act as a Data Processor on their instructions.
What this website collects
Very little, and we would rather say so plainly than pad this section.
- No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers. gpsbull.com does not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any similar service.
- No cookies are set for tracking. The only thing stored in your browser is your chosen video quality for the brand film, kept locally so the site remembers it on your next visit. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
- The enquiry form does not submit to a server. Pressing Send Message opens your own email application with the details pre-filled. Nothing is transmitted to us until you choose to send that email, and no copy is kept on the website.
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP address, timestamp, requested page and browser user-agent. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and to investigate abuse.
What our devices and platform collect
Our tracking devices are installed in vehicles by, or on the instructions of, the vehicle owner or fleet operator. Depending on the model, configuration and the sensors fitted, a device may record:
- Vehicle location, speed, direction and time, at the reporting interval configured for that fleet
- Ignition state, trip start and stop, halts and idling
- Driving events such as harsh braking, harsh acceleration and over-speeding
- Emergency and panic button presses
- Device health, tamper detection, power and internal battery status
- Where the relevant optional sensor is fitted: fuel level, temperature, door state, RFID or driver identification input, and data read from the vehicle's own CAN bus
The GBULL CLOUD platform and the GPS BULL mobile app additionally hold the account details of the people who log in, which typically means name, mobile number, email address, the organisation they belong to and their access level.
Why we process this data
- To deliver the service the customer has asked for, which is vehicle tracking, alerts, reports and fleet management for the fleet operator who owns or operates the vehicle.
- To meet legal obligations. AIS-140 is a mandatory Indian standard for notified categories of commercial and public service vehicles. Devices supplied for that purpose transmit location and emergency data to the relevant State or National backend as the standard requires. This transmission is a legal requirement, not a commercial choice, and it cannot be disabled on a compliant device.
- To provide support and warranty service, including diagnosing a device remotely and issuing firmware updates over the air.
- To keep the service secure, and to detect tampering, fraud and misuse.
- To respond to your enquiry when you write to us or call us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We share data only in these situations:
- With the fleet operator or vehicle owner whose vehicle the device is installed in. They are the customer, and the tracking data belongs to their account.
- With State and National regulatory backends, where AIS-140 or an equivalent state requirement mandates it. Which authority receives the data depends on the state the vehicle is registered in.
- With telecom operators, to the extent necessary to carry the device's data over their network.
- With service providers who host or support our infrastructure, under contract and only for that purpose.
- Where the law requires it, including a valid order from a court, police or regulatory authority.
A note to drivers and employees
If you drive a vehicle fitted with one of our devices, the tracking account belongs to your employer or the vehicle owner, not to us. They decide what is tracked, who can see it and how long it is kept, within the limits of the law.
We cannot give you access to, correct or delete that data on our own initiative, because it is not ours to release. Please raise the request with your employer or the vehicle owner first. If you contact us directly, we will point you to the account holder and, where the law requires us to act, we will act.
Where a device is fitted to comply with AIS-140, some data is also transmitted to a government backend independently of your employer.
How long we keep it
Tracking data is retained for the period agreed with the customer in their service contract or as required by the applicable regulation, whichever is longer. AIS-140 and individual state requirements set their own minimum retention periods for vehicle location data, and those override any shorter commercial arrangement.
Account details are kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and audit obligations. Web server logs are kept for a short operational period and then discarded.
[GPSBULL to confirm the exact retention periods for tracking data and account data, and to state them here as specific durations before this policy is relied upon.]
How we protect it
Data in transit between device and platform is transmitted over the device's mobile data connection to our servers. Access to the platform is controlled by individual accounts with defined permission levels, so a user sees only the vehicles their organisation has granted them. Administrative access to our systems is limited to staff who need it for their role.
Our processes are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and assessed at CMMI Level 3. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected individuals as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, if you are a Data Principal whose personal data we hold as a Data Fiduciary, you may:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we process about you, and who we have shared it with
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete, or to update it
- Ask us to erase personal data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, unless we are required by law to keep it
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity
- Raise a grievance with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response
To make a request, write to info@gpsbull.com with enough detail for us to identify the data. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, so that we do not disclose one person's data to another.
Grievance redressal
If you have a complaint about how your personal data has been handled, contact our Grievance Officer:
[GPSBULL to insert the Grievance Officer's name, designation, direct email address and postal address here. Naming a Grievance Officer is a requirement under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and under the Information Technology Rules for intermediaries. This section must be completed before the policy is published as final.]
In the meantime, complaints may be sent to info@gpsbull.com or by post to Tripple7Bull Innovations Private Limited, Plot No. 33 FF, Meera Enclave, Chaukhandi, New Delhi 110018.
We aim to acknowledge a grievance within a reasonable period and to resolve it promptly. If you remain dissatisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our products and services are sold to businesses and vehicle owners, and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of a child through this website or our platform accounts.
Where a device is fitted to a school bus, the tracking relates to the vehicle and is provided to the school or transport operator, who is responsible for how any resulting information about students is handled and shared with parents.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, or the law, change. The version in force is the one published at this address, and the date below shows when it was last revised. Material changes affecting how we use personal data will be notified to account holders.
